Three Basic Salad Dressings

Making your own salad dressing is easy, economical, and a great way to get healthy fats in your diet. Here are three basic dressings, one with just 4 ingredients. The second one has a few more ingredients, takes a few more minutes, but it’s well worth it. And the third uses avocado, a great source of healthy fat, as its main ingredient.

Salad Dressing #1

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

Salad Dressing #2

  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 4-5 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Salad Dressing #3

  • 1 whole avocado
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4-1/2 cup water

Mix all ingredients except water in a food processor. Add water as needed, to thin to desired consistency.
